Darrell LeBlanc left a comment for Locke de Bretteville
"Locke,
About to go out and turn the Twin Cam over for the first time since January. I'm just finishing a build of a Spec Miata, which will be my sole car this summer. I'm going to park the Winkelmann to try to get massive seat time in the SM.…"

  • Good for you. nothing like seat time. I may do a kart for the same purpose. See you in 2011.
  • Hi Darrell!

The car is progressing. The frame is good, plus three sets (!) of suspension are done, the FT is rebuilt, the motor will probably go on the dyno next month, the rack, brakes & uprights are rebuilt, so that leaves a radiator, cell, side pods (remember, it's not a stock WDB2) plus wiring, plumbing, paint & lots of other minutiae. Having said all that, I think it's first race will be early next year. With some luck, maybe it will be tested this year. It all takes time. Andy Antipas has been a great help, as have you. We couldn't have done it without the information & photos you provided.
  • BTW - great looking car :-))
