I met Phil through his niece.
In fact, I just recently gave him a sketch of him racing, which I did 3 years ago, essentially the first sketch of the ones I'm doing now. He had me add some info to it, so I delivered it to his home about 65 km from here.
He also is the first to buy an original artwork from me.
Have fun over the weekend there ... I hope the weather will be good for you.

Thanks so much. I'm glad we've connected. You photography is great ... very nice work.
You couldn't have seen me at the Glen, because I've never been there ... I dream of being there, but that doesn't count, eh?
Maybe you saw me at the Mosport Vintage Racing Festival in 2007. That was fabulous if you were a spectator, but it was a disaster as a vendor; I'm still paying for that mistake. VARAC really should advertise the event in TO; the turnout would be huge!
I did make some great friends at the event, and they've been enormously supportive, promoting my art whenever they can.
Next year, I'm hoping to be financially caught enough to take in one or two events that I know are well attended.
If you're there, please drop in and say HI to Phil Lamont with his 1960 Lotus 18 FJr ... a very very nice guy.
