  • Hi Stephen,
I did not know Alfa was the featured marque at Monterey, sadly I will not be there firstly my car would not be accepted because it has a 1750 engine (should be 1600) and also the cost of transpotation and the subsequent weekend would be too much of a strain on the racing budget.

  • Thanks for the comments on Pix. With my father, we've been going to vintage races for about 10 years. Before losing his sight, he raced a Fiat 600 around the Northwest in the early 70's.

We plan on unveiling the "new" 850 at the Seattle Historics, AND will be travelling down to Monterey for their events. Maybe with his Masserati ))

  • Thanks for the great network!

    Good luck this year.

  • thanks for the welcome. I'm on the road right now and don't have photos available. I have an Alfa Romeo GTV that I am modifying with GTAm body work. It's finally ready for the paint shop. The motor, suspension, brakes, wheels, etc have already been highly upgraded. I'm not sure it will be eligible for certain vintage races given the alterations I have made. We'll have to see. If nothing else, it's a great track day car.
  • I will pass this on to our clients, but the decision to link to your site is up to them. Where would you put the reciprocal link on your site?

    Hi Stephen,

Thought I would try to send you some photos of my car, primarily to see if I can but also in the hopes that you may be interested.

  • Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the warm, and thoughtful welcome. It is good to get to share vintage racing with others, sometimes for those of us who live outside of a racing hotbed our spouses have long since reached overload.

Since you asked, or at least left me an opening, I race a 1963 Elva Courier and a 1966 Ladybird mk. 7 ( a Classic Clubmans 1.6 L ) with SOVREN and HMSA in the pacific northwest and northern California. We look forward to following your website and will pass this page along to our racing friends.

    Thanks again.

  • Your on, Stephan...Only a coke, though.
I'm gonna make another race in Texas before I quit, promise. I lived on a 95 acre parcel on the west boundary fence of DFW, once upon a time. Brother-in-law still lives in Burrleson and we have 5.5 acres up in Montague county.

    $5/gal. at 5mpg.....hmmmmmmm?

  • Alan is good people. I think he felt worse about it than I did. I look at it from a racer's perspective, if you cannot afford to loose it, keep it in the garage. Besides, the black car handled like crap (I only added the cage and engine before racing) and the white car "Rusty Booger" is a real race car I built from scratch...I'll post a couple more photos.

  • Stephen, this is fantastic idea, a social site for us vintage racers! I feel rather isolated in AZ we only have one or two
    events/year, even with 4 tracks (Firebird-3, PIR-1) in the
area..Maybe this site will be the catalyst for getting a local VR group started.

Thanks for the complements, I'll upload more pictures when I can. I rebuilt the Elan from a bare frame..The current shot is
from the Feb 2005 HSR event at PIR, taken at the entry to
    turn 2..
