"My plan is to take the car to Road America for the May SVRA race. I live in Milwaukee so that is my home track. I would have liked to have a test day somewhere first but that isn't working out. That is why I was asking about set up. Even though I…"

"Thanks Tony, this is the Bill Brack car. Pat Phalan sold it to a guy in Arizona who never drove it. I was able to get the car along with a set of body moulds for a lot less then he was asking. The car is actually in very good shape, engine new by…"

"Tony, my name is Brian Stark. I vintage race a Chevron B36 and just bought a B29. I understand you had one for many years. I am looking for a good starting point for front and rear spring rates. Car has 220 front and 230 rear and that seems quite…"

  • Brian, if you want to get interest in the car here in the UK, I'd contact Mark Dixon at "Octane" magazine to tell him a little about the car and the Newman connection.

    Kind regards,

    Paul.

  • Brian,
Canadian flag center section 6"X 8", 3"x5" Champion Spark plug sticker and if I remember correctly a TAG Heuer label in front. I find this site awkward to use. If you can PM me I can give you my email I can try to help you on this end. Dave
  • Brian,
I think Bill Brack is still around. He will have pictures. The last info I could find on him was Bill Brack High Performance Driving Academy , Dunnville Autodome (416)-368-8294 This info is about 5 yrs old. The last picture in the PDF file with your car is from Mosport 1975.

  • Brian,
I left a post with a link on Bill Brack. PDF file with pictures of your Car from 1975.

  • That's a very special car. Will you be taking it out soon? Where? I'd love to see it. Call me anytime.

  • Brian,

I agree. The springs are too soft. I would recommend 275 lbs/in in the front and 375 lbs/in in the rear as a good starting point. You'll find the car very forgiving with this set-up and you can stiffen it from there as you become familiar with the car. Take care not to lower the ride height too much (less than 1 1/2" front and 1 7/8" rear) these cars were meant to have suspension travel, and are much more fun to drive that way. Feel free to contact me at 860-355-1403, I'll be glad to help with anything on that car. I had mine for 20 years and could work on it in my sleep. Who owned the car before?

    Tony
