The Vintage Auto Racing Association

Welcome to VARA, The Vintage Auto Racing Association. We are the largest Vintage & Historic Auto Racing and Motorsports Organization in the US. We are dedicated to the preservation of Historic and Classic race cars.

"The primary objective of the sport of vintage and historic automobile racing is to promote the preservation of these cars in a racing format that emphasizes safety." Founded in 1973, VARA is the largest vintage racing organization in the country. Race fields are made up of Sports Cars, Sport Racers, Formula Cars from the post WWII period through the sixties, with a few cars from the seventies and later.

Membership in VARA is available to racers and racing enthusiasts. Events are family oriented with many husband/wife teams and second generation racers filling the fields. Membership entitles you to a subscription of the quarterly magazine, The Vintage Voice as well as the VARA Newsletter.

Volunteers are always welcomed and needed by VARA. Our gratitude to the Long Beach MG Club for acting as our grid, and safety corner workers for each event.

VARA currently hosts racing events at:
Auto Club Speedway
Willow Springs Raceway
Buttonwillow Raceway Park
Phoenix International Raceway
Las Vegas Motor Speedway

  • Hey guys!

    This group is great!

I thought you Vintage Car fans might be interested to learn that our film production produced a TV-series called GT-RACER, featuring races from around the world. We have some great footage of races like the Nurburgring, Laguna Seca, Spa, Silverstone, Lime Rock and the Porto's Street Circuit!

GT-RACER is now out on DVD. You can see trailers on the director's page on the VRL here:
    http://www.myvrl.com/profile/AlexanderDavidis

Also, make sure you check out Shaken & Stirred, a Cinema Verite Documentary devoted to classic Aston Martin racing at Spa!

You can also order the DVDs here:
    http://www.spiritlevelfilm.com/shop/product.php?productid=16159&amp...

For VRL members we put in a great discount that you get by entering this discount code: "JGFILM"

Hopefully we get some feedback how you liked the films.
We have a group on the VRL to discuss them that is here:

Best Wishes from John Galt Films
