  • I will definitely see about creating a Car Property Group on the site ... It should be interesting. I will send you an email about web site links and so forth so we can discuss it ... the idea sounds great.
  • hi mate i have had someone join called monty rustbucket join and put me down as a friend this is ov someone waisting our time and making a joke you must have there e mail adress and you can act as you want thanks
  • Hi Stephen,
A really great site that you have here! I plan to try to do more things with my profile and make some new friends. Do me a favor and checkout CarProperty.com ... It is a media business that I started and it is catching on amongst car collectors all over the world. I hope your friends find out about it to. See you later ... and thanks again!
  • Thanks Stephen! I'll start getting active in the groups for some of my favourite cars.

    Cheers
    Paul
  • Great! Thank you. As soon as we upload the majority and the site has a link set up so people can browse and input their knowledge, I'll shoot over some sample images and expaination for member to play with it.

It is really fun to look through these as I love the fact that I know my dad was at each of these races and I am seeing his hobby through his eyes. I was going to all of the Can-Am races at Bridgehampton since I was one.. and I remember my dad shooting pictures for what seemed like an eternity. Now I'm glad he did!

    Lots more to come!
  • Stephen,
As I mentioned, my father was a racing fanatic from the 50's through his passing and was also an avid phototgrapher. I've been sorting through thousands of images and I've hired a company to upload some of them, many of which are of the cars I see on this site (these are actual vintage photos of the actual races... not contemporary photos of vintage races taken recently).

The site will rely on people adding information about each of the cars so that they come up on searches, and I will eventually like to invite your members to check it out and maybe add their knowledge to the data-base. (Like a Wikipedia of sorts) The images will be available for sale, but at a modest price, as this isn't really a commercial venture for me -- just a way to honor my dad.

If you are interested, check out the first round of scanned images at this link and let me know what you think.

  • Stephen:

Who are these people? I just received this comment: "Julie Hollis said…
Don't be so bloody stupid lol"

I don't know her & it seems she sent the same comment to just about everyone on the VRL.
